Central College has many financial aid avenues
to assist a student in meeting educational expenses. A wide variety of
grants are available which a student can qualify for depending on need
and when the application is submitted and the file is complete. It
will take us approximately 6 to 8 weeks to complete your financial aid
package.
Central
College offers the following grant money:
- Pell Grant
- Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
- Texas Grant
- Texas Public Educational Grant (TPEG)
- Leveraging Education Assistance Partnership (LEAP)
If a student does not qualify for any grant money, there is loan money that may assist the student with educational expenses:
- Stafford Student Loan (subsidized or unsubsidized)
- Parental Loan for Undergraduate Student (PLUS)
- Short-Term Loans
Additionally, College Work-Study (CWS) is also available for students who qualify. These include funds that come from the federal government as well as the state. Jobs available range from working on campus to working in the community.
Every student is encourage to apply for any scholarships that he or she may qualify for. There is a lot of free money to be given out from many different sources.
Important Financial Aid deadlines:
- March 1 - Spring Loans Only
- April 15 - Priority application deadline for all students
- June 30 - FAFSA deadline
- October 1 - Fall Loans Only
